Start at the historic Yea Railway Station, crossing the Goulburn River floodplains before a gentle climb toward the remarkable 19th-century Cheviot Tunnel. This 201-metre handmade brick marvel is the only tunnel of its kind on a Victorian Rail Trail, and calls for a steady pace and a bright bike light.

After emerging back into the light, take a moment at the historic Cheviot Station site to appreciate the quiet rural landscape before coasting back down to Yea. Reward your efforts with a stop at the Yea Wetlands Discovery Centre or a well-earned meal at the Country Club Hotel, a local favourite that has been welcoming travellers since 1856.
